This Simple Garlic and Basil Pesto recipe was easy to make and tasty. Amazingly enough I had all of the ingredients on hand, just added a bit more basil and left out the chili powder.
Later this week I think I'll try out this Arugula Pesto recipe and freeze a batch of it to compare.

***Boiled Peanuts***
We ran into a guy selling boiled peanuts last month here in Portland at Last Thursday. I have NEVER seen boiled peanuts sold anywhere other than the South. And why not?! They are so delicious and it's not just my North Florida roots. Josh is from Vermont and he can't get enough of them either! After many hours last week trying to boil a batch on the stove (they eventually did come out pretty good!), we've moved onto the crock-pot for the latest batch and are experimenting with a fancy alderwood smoked sea salt.

I wouldn't have thought of making cookies with sesame, but our lovely new neighbors brought some over today to welcome us to the neighborhood and they were delicious. Here's a recipe that seems like it might be similar, add a few drips of chocolate on top for an added touch of sweetness.
